Because of the rapid growth of the world of virtual reality, VR technologies and devices have begun to take more and more space in our everyday lives. Many products are being designed to make VR devices and 360 degree video experiences available for everyone.
GoPro, which are known for their action movie cameras, have become part of this rapidly evolving world of virtual reality. GoPro's new camcorder Omni, that is capable of 360 degree VR shooting, is one of the best products to give you this experience. Omni is an aluminum cube that includes six Hero 4 Black cameras. Images made with each independent camera are synchronized on the "pixel level" with a processor inside the device.
The device is controlled via the main camera that also controls the other five cameras. It is a challenging situation if you can only see the shooting image of the main camera while recording. Because any object or person that enters the viewpoint of the other five cameras cannot be detected during the filming. The recordings of all the cameras can only be viewed after the video has been transferred to a PC when the recording is finished.
The editing program to which the images are transferred after the recording, is using a different programming language. So another problem the users face is to have a different language of terms. Omni is different than the usual international language used in such programs. Moreover, this type of technology is completely new on the market, which makes it difficult to find solutions for any software or hardware problems of these devices.
